Naturopathy is a holistic healthcare system that uses natural therapies – herbal medicine, nutritional medicine, diet and lifestyle interventions – to support the body's innate healing capacity. Naturopaths focus on treating root causes rather than just suppressing symptoms, addressing the whole person: physical, mental and emotional health.

Consultations are conducted via SimpleClinic's secure video platform. You'll receive a link before your appointment. Log in from your computer, tablet or phone in a private, quiet space with stable internet. It's just like an in-person appointment, but from the comfort of home.

Your initial consultation (90 minutes) involves a comprehensive health assessment. We discuss your main concerns, medical history, medications, diet, lifestyle, sleep, stress, digestion, hormones and more. This thorough assessment identifies patterns and root causes. Within 24-48 hours, you'll receive a personalised treatment plan via email.

Bring any recent pathology results (blood tests, scans, etc.), a list of current medications and supplements, and any relevant medical reports. Complete the intake form before your appointment. Have a notebook handy if you'd like to take notes during the consultation.

Yes, absolutely. While I have particular expertise in women's hormonal health, I support men with preconception care, digestive issues, thyroid dysfunction, fatigue, metabolic health, skin conditions, stress management and general wellness.

This depends on your condition and goals. Typically, initial consultations are followed by a follow-up 4-6 weeks later to assess progress. From there, appointments may be monthly, every 8 weeks or quarterly. Acute conditions may require more frequent visits initially, while maintenance care might be 2-4 times yearly.
-
Absolutely. Many clients see naturopaths while taking prescription medications. I screen all herbal and supplement recommendations for potential interactions with your medications to ensure safety. Never stop prescription medications without consulting your prescribing doctor.

Most private health insurance policies with extras cover provide rebates for naturopathy consultations since being reinstated in 2026. Rebate amounts vary depending on your level of cover. You'll receive a detailed tax invoice after your appointment to submit to your fund for reimbursement. Check with your fund to confirm your coverage.

This varies depending on your condition / symptoms, how long you've had them and your compliance with treatment. Some people notice improvements within 2-4 weeks (energy, digestion, sleep), while chronic conditions may take 3-6 months of consistent treatment. We'll discuss realistic timeframes during your consultation.
-
No, you don't need a referral to see a naturopath. Naturopaths are primary healthcare practitioners. However, we encourage maintaining your relationship with your GP and can work collaboratively with your medical team when appropriate.
-
Conventional medicine excels at acute care, emergency medicine, surgery and pharmaceutical interventions. Naturopathy focuses on chronic conditions, prevention, root cause treatment and supporting optimal function. Both have their place – they're complementary, not mutually exclusive. Many clients benefit from integrating both approaches.
-
When prescribed appropriately by a qualified practitioner, yes. All herbal medicines I prescribe are TGA-listed and sourced from GMP-certified suppliers. I screen for contraindications, medication interactions and safety concerns. However, natural doesn't always mean harmless – which is why proper prescribing matters.

Online consultations provide the same comprehensive assessment, treatment planning and ongoing support as face-to-face appointments. The only difference is we can't perform physical examinations (like palpation), but we can recommend appropriate pathology testing or GP referrals if needed. Many clients prefer the convenience of telehealth.

I see clients of all ages. For clients under 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent and be present during consultations (or immediately available). Parent/guardian is financially responsible for minors' appointments.
